Automatic square-field X-ray beam-limiting system for operation
on stationary radiological equipment. Automatic position, via CAN
BUS, of the shutters according to cassette size, fixed fields used
and FFD( SID).
The system comprises two collimator mounted electronic circuits:
one circuit serves to supply and control the lamp or white power Led simulating the
x-ray field and the laser; the second circuit controls the motors
for the positioning of shutters and, if assembled, of filters and
iris. Format reduction and manual operation of the system are performed
by two knobs and a set of pushbuttons placed on the collimator front
panel.
A digital display and Led indicators on the front panel provide
the following data:
- field size
- FFD(SID) values
- operation mode.
X-ray tube/image receptor alignment is obtained by means of a laser
beam. In the Manual Mode, FFD (SID) is set by two pushbuttons(+/-)
on the collimator front panel.
If the system features a Potter Bucky (maximum three), the collimator
requires an optional external interface circuit to cater for CAN
BUS transmission, to the collimator, of the analogic signals from
the Potter Buckys, FFD translators, table height from the floor
and relays of lateral fixed distances. Potter Bucky selection is
possible from the tilt-system on the motor control board in the
collimator.
System R302DACS includes the collimator with two
electronics boards, a 10 m connection cable, fixed mounting flange
with three spacers, laser and retractable measuring tape.
Mounting plane at 80 mm from the x-ray focus.

Automatic
collimator for dental applications: square-field,
single layer, compact and light. Shutter position is controlled
by an external board with serial signals via CanBus or I²C
protocols.
- Mounting distance from the x-ray focus: 62 mm.
- Indication of the projected light field is provided by a linear
led.
- Maximum radiation protection: 90 kVp – 4mA.
- Minimum inherent filtration equivalent to 0,5 mm Al.
- Variable field from Min: 00 x 00 to Max: 30 x 30 at 1.680 mm
FFD-SID.
